Our next event to raise money for the BHF is the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on Saturday 8th July 2017.
John, Ben and Ian Kilgariff have agreed (under duress!) to take part in this event: John Fellows (43), Ben Fellows (18), Ian Kilgariff (45) - Team Name: Tom Fellows
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far in our fundraising efforts and hopefully, we can drag (kicking and screaming if required) a few more of you along to participate in one or more of our future events. We are also open to suggestions (please keep them sensible and realistic, as we are getting on a bit!) about events or challenges that we can undertake to raise money for the BHF.
Below is a brief outline of what the day entails.
Join us for the biggest charity hike in the Yorkshire Dales and soak up the buzz and atmosphere you can only get when you're all fighting as a team for the same cause - to beat heart disease.
Covering 24 miles and 5,000 feet of climbing, this is a physical and navigational challenge – while the hike follows a well-established route the course is not marked so a compass and map to navigate around are essential. You will be exposed to rocky tracks, boggy areas and some rock climbing! The first peak, Pen-y-Ghent (694m/2277ft), provides great views of the peaks to come and surrounding area. As you walk towards Whernside (736m/2415ft) marvel at the grandeur of Ribblehead Viaduct and then onto Ingleborough (723m 2372ft) for your ascent to the finish.
