In memory of Colin Ambrose

This Gift of Hope page is in memory of my dad, Colin Ambrose, who died very suddenly of a silent heart attack on 18th June 2015, just three days before Father’s Day. My dad was a fit and healthy father and grandfather who adored caring for his four grandchildren and taking them to various activities. The evening before he died, he had picked up all of his grandchildren from school as normal. With almost no warning, his life was cut short.

Dad loved The Salvation Army and spent much of his free time furthering its cause. He particularly enjoyed Salvation Army banding and played in Regent Hall Salvation Army Band for 45 years. Dad was the Retired Corps Sergeant Major of Regent Hall Corps and would think nothing of directing the traffic so that the Band could march through the crowded streets of Central London. Just four days before his passing, he proudly led the band out down Oxford Street and Regent Street.
We would like something positive to come from this tragic event so that other lives may be saved and so we have set up this fund to raise money to support the British Heart Foundation.

The BHF is the nation's heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. Its motto is: fighting for every heartbeat. The BHF's research has helped drive up the survival rate after a heart attack in the UK to 70 per cent and has helped cardiologists to have a much greater understanding of how to care for those survivors. With your help, we can help support this vital work to make even more progress.
