DAVID TURPIN

Welcome to the Gift of Hope Heart Fund which has been set up in memory of DAVID LUCAS TURPIN. My brother David was born on 1st November 1947 and had difficulties from the start with his heart, and later, hearing. Our mother suported David with almost grim determination - nothing defeated her! So David grew strong. This sometimes scared Mum, such as when he cycled from Bradford to Bournemouth in his late teens! In adulthood he became very athletic and was a very keen runner. He ran many marathons, including the London Marathon and the Great North Run. He continued running for the rest of his too short life. Tragically he collapsed and died suddenly after a practice run on 20th March 2000. Although devastating for the family, at least he died doing what he loved. As the cause of David's unexpected and sudden death was his heart, it seems fitting to set up a BHF fund to help tackle the pervasive nature of heart disease, despite seemingly healthy lifetstyles. It also serves to remember my beloved brother who was taken so suddenly and cruelly from us. I hope you can join me in fundraising for the nations heart charity nobody is doing more than the BHF to keep the nations hearts beating. Please make an online donation if you can.Thank you.

The son of the late Peter William Hampson who also died of heart related complications in 1988. I have been trying to locate David for many years as my father was a childhood friend of Davids (best mate) as we'd say today and often cycled far and wide as teenagers, my mother tells me my father laughed at their trips from Bradford to Scarborough. I'd be interested to hear from you further. mchampson@icloud.com Kind Regards Mark Hampson

Remembering you especially on 20th March. Remembering the only time you held our new baby son, Alexander.
