Jean Mary Heckingbottom

Jean was born on 8th July 1936 in Goole, Yorkshire.
She was an active member of the Mothers Union, a guider and a teacher as well as being the much loved mother of Elaine and Peter, mother in law to Louise and granny to Anna, Megan and Lucy.
Jean suffered with heart problems throughout her life. She was diagnosed with mitral stenosis around 20 years ago and received a metal heart valve to fix this.
In recent years, Jean developed aortic stenosis, leading to vascular dementia, which caused her to struggle with many elements of every day life.
Hospital stays resulted in nothing, but carers helped her to remain relatively independent.
On 28th August, Bank Holiday Monday, Jean took herself to bed and died in the most peaceful way that anyone can imagine. We strongly believe that she is now with her husband, Michael, exploring the many rooms that Jesus prepared in Heaven.
'My father's house has many rooms. If that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?' John 14:2
We are not sure which room is Mum's - probably the Heavenly Library, but we know that Dad is enjoying the Heavenly Railway Room as well!
Jean's family have requested that, instead of flowers, donations should be made to the British Heart Foundation, and this is an excellent way to do this.
