John Payne

In loving memory of John Payne (aka 'Chief). 16th October 1947 to 15th August 2017
Loving Husband, Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad.

As I am sure many people will be aware John suffered with major heart problems for many years of his life and we thought it would be a fitting tribute in honour of his memory to try and give a little something back to the Heart Foundation.

For many people that knew John, they would no doubt have described him as hard-working, conscientious, loyal and organised. But for me the man our family will remember was the loving Husband who enjoyed nothing more than tending to his garden, walking with his beloved Bitsey and a good old fashioned water fight! For the Dad who used to let me and my brother eat too many doughnuts whilst letting me ride on his shoulders along Brighton Pier because I was too scared to walk in case I fell through the cracks. The Dad who would let us stay up late in bed with our Mum on a Friday night for a sneaky midnight snack and for the Grandad who loved nothing more than having his grandchildren descend on him to watch his favourite early morning cartoons!!

John had a great capacity for love, friendship, fun and loyalty and those qualities will be greatly missed by us all.

You will be always loved, never forgotten and forever missed. Xxxxx
