Martin Brewer

This site is dedicated to the memory of Martin Brewer who unfortunately passed away on 5th June. Martin was a devoted husband to his wife Martine and father to his 3 daughters Hannah 19, Grace 16 and Emily 10. Martin worked for HSBC for 33 years in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong & Brasil starting his career in 1977 as a clerk in the International Branch based in Bristol. He worked in London from 1984 to 1989 before moving to Hong Kong for two years in 1989 as a Credit Manager. Between 1991 and 1997 he held a number of roles in the UK Bank and the International Department based in London. In 1997 he moved to Brasil for three years as Director & Head of Group Planning for HSBC Bank Brasil. Martin returned to London in 2001 where he has since held a number of roles including the acquisition of Demir Bank (Turkey), London co-ordinator for Argentina, Senior Executive for Global Personal Financial Services and General Manager for Strategic Development in the UK Bank. In March 2007 Martin joined Group Insurance Head Office with responsibility for Preferred Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Bancassurance. In recent years he also channelled his efforts to Developing Green & Sustainable Insurance, an area close to his heart. On 2nd June Martin completed the British Heart Foundation 10km run in Canary Wharf. This gave him a particular sense of pride & fulfilment in memory of his father, to whom he was very close, who had unfortunately died of a heart attack 5 years ago. Martin had the unique ability to combine professionalism with a warm and highly engaging personality. He was extremely passionate about people with great energy and enthusiasm making him a pleasure to work with. He was truly one of life's gentlemen.Thank you for your kind donation.
