I did it. . It took blood, sweat and tears. It was a bitterly cold day and for the last 2 miles I could have cried and but the time was a decent 2 hours and 29 mins. Now looking forward to a glass of wine. Thank you to everyone who donated xx Dawn, 30th September 2018
September 18 - We are now 3 weeks away. I've reached 18k in 2 hours 25 mins, however a fall last Saturday has hindered my training. I'm going to try can achieve 19k - 20k this week-end and aim for 2 hours 40 mins. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Please continue to donate it's for a very good cause xx
May 18 - The marathon is getting closer. I'm currently up to 14k with blisters and bruised feet and there is still along way to go. I have however successfully run 3 x 10k's this year and I'm working hard to achieve the distance. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Please continue to donate xxx.
3 weeks ago I tragically lost my lovely brother Kev. He went to bed and never woke up again. His heart stopped beating and he was only 49. To help fight against this killer disease and prevent such deep sadness touching other families I will be running a half marathon.
Two years ago I’d never ran and when I first started I struggled with a 2 minute stretch on the treadmill. Over the past 2 years I have now run 3 x 10k’s and 3 x 5k’s. Indeed the last time I saw Kev was the day of the Tamworth 10k.
Running a half marathon is a significant increase in my current distance and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t petrified at the thought, however I’m hoping with a lot effort and training I will be successful. By only ambition is to complete it (and hopefully not be last lol).
I would therefore be grateful if you would support me and the British Heart Fund by donating. Thank you Dawn xx
